Sun

It started off sunny and chilly and is now overcast and chilly… That’s my grumble about the weather today.  It’s fall, so “chilly” is a standard description.  Jerry couldn’t wait for me to sit this morning, and plunked his tiny self on my lap as soon as I got to my chair!  He managed to stretch himself into a remarkably long dog, demanding tummy rubs, hitting my face with his overly long paws and knocking my phone out of my hand.  Don is fine and his pain seems to be fairly well managed, as he’s been playing on his phone and moving around pretty easily.  Do I need to say that I feel happy when he’s like that?  It’s the Grey Cup tonight, so somewhere this evening I’ll be banished from the living room so I don’t “accidentally jinx” his team.

I had a huge bout of “digestive distress” last night that went on until almost midnight.  It’s totally bizarre, as I have no idea of the cause!  I went to bed in hopes that it would pass, but then had to take my anti-nausea meds to try to feel better.  My nurse called in sick today, and I only found out when I called the agency to ask if there was a problem, as she’s always punctual.  I explained that I receive IV hydration over 8 hours, so please send someone before 2pm (I’d called at 11) or else I’d have to be awake until after midnight - the person on the phone was going to put a cutoff of 8pm!  I can’t sleep with the connection as it’s in my right arm and if I lie on that side, it cuts off… bit of a first world problem, I know.

I lost myself again in a variety of food videos.  Mostly from the Caribbean this time, which just makes me hungry, although I’m not sure that I can handle the level of spices.  That’s just wrong, for your information.  As a substitute, I’ve been eating some of the frozen prepared meals I got.  I’m saddened to report that the sweet and sour chicken and the General Tao from 2 vendors just tasted of syrup.  The rice for the butter chicken was little bullets.  The “honey barbecue” was inedible as it was just sweet.  Asian dishes, which were described as “tangy” or “spicy” didn’t meet either adjective.  I’d like to find something so I’m able to eat something and not spend hours with an unhappy stomach.

I’m going to see what I can find to eat tonight, and then dive into a book before the game starts to keep me busy.  Good night!
