Whew
It’s a little milder today, but not very warm. It was sunny, with some bright blue skies, all of which is very welcome, but as it got later, it also has got cooler and it felt a little like there were ice crystals starting to jab at my legs under the blanket! Warmth is always preferable and it’s almost turn on the heat time! I’m definitely in the wrong country if I don’t like cold. I heard that there are wildfires in New Jersey, and I remember what it’s like with all the smoke-filled sky, and I hope that things improve quickly for the affected people. Jerry is lying on my toes, which is warmer than the alternative! (Well, I could wear socks, but a sleepy puppy works better.) Don dozed off this afternoon on the sofa and then has been playing with the puppy, who is very attached to the trim of my jacket… I haven’t been able to get it away from him since he stole it weeks ago, but he’s very attached to it! I’ve had to admit that it’s not mine any longer, and he shakes it, plays with it and sometimes sleeps with it!
I woke up this morning feeling quite sleepy. I don’t know why; I went to bed at a fairly decent hour, woke up once, briefly and otherwise slept for about 8 hours. Took a while to wake up and the nurse’s cheerful chatter was annoying me as I just wanted to go back to sleep! Anyway, she did set up the IV and I was fine, but I finally knocked out this afternoon in a very uncomfortable position so I woke up with a crick in my neck.
I was finally able to complete and submit my grant reviews by noon today (LATE!!!) so that’s off my plate. I’ve got to complete a couple of of expense accounts and some other emails before the meeting next week… there’s some relief that I was able to finish it, but I’m honestly finding that my energy isn’t as available as it was or as I’d like.
Confession time… I found a really cheesy Chinese soap opera that I’m enjoying far too much. It’s highly overacted, with lots of dramatic music stings and some dialogue that I thought had gone away with the old kung fu movies that were popular in the 70s. I’ll have a fun time giggling through the drama and then walk away from it! Good night!
