Shubh Divali
It is 23C today. That’s such a gorgeous, perfect temperature! I can’t complain at all about this, so I’m soaking up the warmth, and just delighted at how lovely it is. It’s also Halloween (something I don’t celebrate) but the kids should enjoy their wandering and begging as it’s not going to be too cold. Jerry is right now draped over Don’s shoulder, holding a ball in his mouth and glaring at me. He got upset with me because I had to yell at him for not listening and getting into mischief. Don is still feeling off, and his knee continues to be a source of pain. His doctor has prescribed a compound medication which should be delivered tomorrow and it will hopefully help his pain.
I’m hooked up to an IV for hydration for the next week. We’re hoping that it will help me feel better. It’s about 8 hours a day and the nurse comes every morning to set it up. I’ve noticed today that I don’t feel quite as drained although I’m still hungry. My PSW came over and I asked her to please prepare a microwaved frozen meal for me. Told her where to find it (after about 10 minutes it dawned on her that it was right in front of her face!) then the first thing she asked was “Should I warm this up?” I couldn’t control my “are you stupid?” Look… I said that the directions were on the back… she didn’t follow them and effectively burned the meal. She’s such a drain on my finances!!
On Tuesday, at the hospital, one of the volunteers (who is an absolute sweetheart) gave me a lovely warm blanket that was crocheted by volunteers for cancer patients. I’ve brought it home and it’s my new chair throw as it’s so cheery! Then today I received a quilt from Victoria’s quilts, requested by my lovely sister. I haven’t opened it yet, but a quick glance shows it to be flowery and happy. I love that.
I’m going to heat up another meal for myself as I’m hungry and my lunch was inedible. I’d ordered a number of meals from a company to try them, and so far they’re decent. I’ll keep you updated on how that goes. May the blessings of Maa Lakshmi enrich your life this divali. Good night!
