Heat

Short one today.  It’s hot and breathless today, and I spent most of the day in bed because I felt so… off.  My blood pressure is in the 90s again, which is nice, but it feels like I’m trying to breathe through a small reed underwater… My support worker made me a small supper, because I otherwise probably would not have eaten anything today; it’s too hot to even contemplate cooking!  Jerry is on my feet, generating lots of heat, but it’s fine.  Oddly enough, I feel cold although it’s 30C.  Don is also struggling to move (pain in his legs) and to breathe… I’m honestly starting to worry about getting through the summer if it’s going to be much hotter than this!

At this point, I’m asking for special prayers for Aunt Peggy who was rushed off to the hospital this morning.  Here’s hoping that it’s not serious and that she’s back home again soon, and up to her normal self.

Last night I watched an Elton John concert, which I enjoyed.  His voice has changed over the years and he can’t quite manage his original range, but he did some energetic versions of several classics… and we had fun singing along to them.  Then we recorded and watched today a Celine Dion concert — she looks so different, but her vocal range stuns.  Then we watched a Dick Van Dyke 98th birthday celebration — I turned up the volume and belted out Chitty Chitty Bang Band, Supercalifragilisticespialidocious, Put on a Happy Face and over a dozen more old standards.  He’s still got a very infectious smile and totally enjoyed the show.  Then I went back to bed… I just feel drained in this weather.

That’s about all for tonight.  Hope that everyone is doing well and isn’t suffering from the heat… Good night!
