Happy New Year!

“May the New Year bring you courage to break your resolutions early! My own plan is to swear off every kind of virtue, so that I triumph even when I fall!” (Aleiter Crowley)

Yes, it’s 2015, folks.  People have already been asking me what are my resolutions for this year… and, of course, I’ve been flooded by emails / posts / shares of suggestions, all of things that I must do to improve my life.  These range from the “must have” fitness, beauty and style items to the “essential” home and kitchen items and, of course, the “best” diets to help me reach my weight loss goals.  Inherent in this is the message that I must change, because I am not good enough, so to meet the level that I should be, marketers are willing to help me find everything to change me.

Well, this year, I have decided that my resolutions will be the following:

  • I resolve to believe 6 impossible things before breakfast each day.
  • I resolve to read 1 book of nonsense every week.
  • I resolve to talk to the fairies regularly, and to clap when asked “Do you believe in fairies?”
  • I resolve to give an angel wings every day.  (Sub-resolution: get a nice bell!)
  • I resolve to keep Christmas in my heart and share the spirit every day.

I think that I can keep these… and if I can’t, then I’ll just start all over again!  As the White Queen points out, everything is the result of practice.

May the year ahead be happier than the year before for as long as you live.
